“The neighborhood was the best part!”
A few days before our arrival I wrote an e-mail to confirm our reservation at the Vinh Hung Hotel 1 in town. However they replied that we had been upgraded to the resort. On arrival they told us it was because the other hotel was being repaired. At first we were a bit annoyed but then we saw our room. A lovely large room right next to the river. The room was very modern and nicely furnished with a typical asian low table with cusions. However, because of the humidity it smelled a bit. The bathroom felt a bit crammed with the large jazuccci bath - which you couldn´t use anyways cause there was not enough warm water to fill it up. The breakfast buffé was fine, with quite a lot to choose between and eggs made to order. During our 3 day stay we ate, at every meal, the set menu of local dishes! The best part of the hotel is the 5 minute walk into town. It´s an interesting and pleasant walk through a residential neighborhood - peaking into the lives of the vietnamese (they sing karaoke every hour of the day!) Over all I could consider coming back and staying at Ving Hung resort when the weather is warmer and one can lay by the pool !

Vinh Hung Resort , This was nice !
This was one nice hotel. It's about a 10 minuite walk into Hoi An through a well-populated local neighbourhood.
The rooms are set around one of the hotels two pools. Our room overlooked the pool on one side and the river on the other. A real working river where we were woken up daily by people going to work on overcrowded ferries. It was a joy to sit onthe terrace and watch the real Vietnam.
The rooms are huge and breakfast is pretty luxurious. It was an absolute joy to come back after a hard days sightseeing in the heat and swim for a couple of hours.
The hotel restaurant is ok for dinner but our advice would be to head into Hoi An where the restaurants were amazing.
We fell in love with Hoi an and would definitely go beack to this hotel

Good Location and pleasant stay
We stayed for a week as a family of 2 adults and 3 kids. This meant having two rooms. We choose the deluxe riverside rooms which feature a double/single combination. Rooms were large and comfortable. Bathrooms a little small but fine. Shower fitting over bath not great Hoi An had a major flood in October 2007 (biggest in 50 years) and the Vinh Hung like all other riverside hotels was flooded (about 1-2 metres through the ground floor rooms and gardens) so it’s amazing how good the place looks just a few months later. (You can find photos of Hoi An in flood on the web just look around...it quite startling).
Given the recent flood the gardens and pools were immaculate. We felt like we had the smaller pool to ourselves. Other contributors have noted the mould but I think that inevitable in Hoi An hotels particularly in winter after such a major flood. Our rooms were fine.
Breakfast was good with a reasonable choice of hot and cold food and a good range of fresh fruits Downside? Rooms very noisy you could hear the neighbours too clearly! Also the river can be very noisy with the sound of diesel engines thumping away from dawn to dusk...but then again the riverside room views were spectacular.
Staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is a good distance out of town (a 5 – 10 minute walk through a “real-life” village) where people were very friendly Overall a very pleasant stay

Tranquil Hotel in Unesco Heritage area!
Lovely resort hotel on island adjacent to this delightful old town. The complex is quite large with a beautiful pool complete with bar and the stunning breakfast is served within a spacious airy restaurant. The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped and have lovely balconies or outside sitting areas. Hoi An is just a short walk over the foor bridge and this hotel is ideally situtuated for all attractions. Try the sea food at one of the many water front restarants!

Vinh Hung Resort - Peaceful!!!
This is a really nice hotel. Perfect location - just 5minutes walk from the center (don't panick nor get scared when you walk from the hotel - alot of little streets and little homes, little everything - all in all Hoi An people are very kind and curious). In the center of town you can do your visiting, shopping, eating. It's quite safe there, and cute. Arrived with the rain, left with the rain, so the streets were a bit flooded, but, that's ok...it couls ave been worse...Back to the Hotel now (! ), the room is very spacious and bungalow typed. Big pool, but didn't get to use it (with a group, not much time, and anyway it rained...). Hotel is located on the big Thu Bon river where the Hotel has a floating restaurant. They also have a restaurant oin the Hotel grounds -the night we arrived we had dinner in the Hotel restaurant - D LI CIOUS ! Big choice of Breakfast
when you return to your room in the afternoon, you can find a heart made out of petals and leaves, the mosquito screen is wrapped around the bed - very romantic.Bathroom is big - considering Vietnam, room is humongous.!

Four-star resort in great location !
Vinh Hung Resort looks far from Hoi An central on some of the maps, but is a 5 minute stroll away, and on the other side of the river from the hard-core tourist area. This means it's easy to get to the food and shopping if you want, but it's quiet and you don't have to worry about a lot of noise in the evenings.
Beautiful int'l-standards appearance hotel. We stayed 1 month after the resort was closed due to massive floods, and had some of the aftermath. For example, the in-room phones didn't work, and the free internet (available at the business center) was incredibly slow.
The hotel has a beautiful pool, in the center of the rooms. Rooms are mostly 8 to a building, and each building is 2-floor bungalow type.
We stayed in a superior level room, which was reasonably large and beautifully decorated, including an overhead canopy which my friend thought was a decorative (actually was mosquito netting). The hotel staff was quite friendly, and tried to be very accommodating. The decor was rather colonial in feel, but nice and everything in excellent shape.
I think the hotel is one of the best in Hoi An, and I would say that in cleanliness, appearance, and general facilities offered it is up to a 4-star international standard. Didn't check out the spa, but the in-house exercise room is an open pavilion with a few pathetic looking weights and elderly bench press.
As with all of our Vietnam hotels, there were issues with the wake-up calls, but the breakfast buffet was good and the hotel amazingly clean shortly after massive flooding.

Vinh Hung Resort - Quiet place to relax!
Lovely grounds and pool. 5 minute walk to river, 5 minutes on from there to restaurants. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff and management. Food tastings every night (whilst we were there). Excellent for price.

Wonderful Place to Stay ! strongly recommend !!!
We travelled throughout Vietnam for 21 days and this would have to be the best hotel complex that we stayed at.
The rooms are set out like small bungalows with our room overlooking the river. There is a free boat into town from 7.00am to 5.00pm but you can walk which only takes 10 mins.
The rooms at the hotel a very large with king beds and table with lounge. It addition double doors open onto a verandah with table and chairs. The pool area is large with a swim up bar and spa, very nice. The breakfast is in the main dining room that is a seperate building to the rooms. Breakfast was great with all types of food and fruit. In the evening outside the dining room on the grass there is food and wine tasting, all vietnam food. This is a nice touch.
The staff in all areas were very helpful giving advice on the main areas on Hoi An.
I would strongly recommend this hotel to any person visiting Hoi An.
